Charlie Ross Crime Platform

By: Magnolia Tribune - May 30, 2007

State Senator Charlie Ross, the conservative candidate for lieutenant governor, today released Chapter Two of the Ross Action Agenda. The Action Agenda outlines Ross’ plan to combat crime in Mississippi by empowering law enforcement and shoring up deficiencies in the criminal justice system.

“It is the primary responsibility of the state to protect its citizens. As lieutenant governor, I will fight to ensure that our families and communities are safe,” Senator Ross said. “Mississippians should have confidence that their law enforcement is adequately equipped with the modern tools and information to fight crime, and that the criminals that are taken off the streets are receiving their due punishment.”

The Ross Action Agenda on Crime presents steps Senator Ross will take when elected lieutenant governor to fight Mississippi’s crime problems. The Action Agenda includes seven points to combat the state’s crime problems such as prison construction, tough sentences for drug crimes, funding the state’s crime lab, hiring more Assistant District Attorneys, and giving law enforcement the technology to fight crime in a modern Mississippi.

This is the second installment of the Ross Action Agenda. The first installment addressed Mississippi’s illegal immigration problem and the steps Senator Ross proposes the state take to curb the problem.

The Ross Action Agenda on Crime is attached, or you may access either chapter of the Action Agenda at www.charlieross.com.
