BOBBY HARRISON: Campaign cash asks who wants what accomplished

By: Magnolia Tribune - May 15, 2007

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, 5/15/7

The express purpose of candidates being required to file as open records campaign finance reports is supposed to be to provide sunshine on election efforts. It allows the voting public to know who is giving to what candidate. If a candidate is getting all his money from one source, it might provide a moment of pause for some members of the voting public.

Whether it does cause concern is up to each individual voter. The point of public reporting of campaign contributions and expenditures is to give the public the access to that information.
