Sen. Thad Cochran kept his promise to start raising money in earnest for re-election, raising $630,250 in the first three months of this year, according to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Cochran’s term is up next year, and some had speculated the 69-year-old Republican would not run for re-election. But Cochran said in February he is “heavily leaning” toward seeking another term. He has served in the Senate since 1979.
