City Council members for the most part favor a proposal to raise traffic ticket fines $1 to supplement the Police Department’s budget but on Tuesday referred the idea to a committee for more discussion.
The extra dollar would match a $1 surcharge the Legislature gave Jackson police the authority to collect come July.
