Miss. players await Thursday draft call
GULFPORT, Miss. — Mississippi hasn’t produced a first-round pick in the NBA Draft since 2004.
Ole Miss guard Terrico White and Mississippi State forward Jarvis Varnado have a shot at ending the five-year drought in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
White, who left Ole Miss after two years, is projected as a late first-round selection. Varnado is considered a solid second-round pick who could sneak into the first round.
“My family and I decided it was best for me to stay in the Draft,” White said. “My expectations are to get drafted, come in and work hard.”
