Conflicting reports on Big 12’s demise
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – The talk of conference realignment again surfaced on Monday with conflicting reports about the Big 12’s potential demise.
After Colorado left for the Pac-10 on Thursday and Nebraska announced its plan to join the Big Ten on Friday, speculation continued that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State were being targeted by the Pac-10 and Texas A&M was considering a move to the Southeastern Conference.
Orangebloods.com on Monday reported that Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe may have convinced the remaining conference members to stay as a 10-team league, but ESPN also reported that the move of Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to the Pac-10 is imminent.
