STARKVILLE — David Turner is leaving Mississippi State’s football coaching staff to join Joker Phillips’ new staff at Kentucky, MSU athletic director Greg Byrne confirmed this afternoon.
Turner, 47, spent three years coaching State’s defensive linemen under head coaches Sylvester Croom (2007-08) and Dan Mullen (2009).
Turner worked with Phillips in 1993 and 1994 when Turner coached defensive ends at Kentucky and Phillips coached wide receivers.
