GMAC NOTEBOOK: Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour finishes career with 150 TDs
Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour accounted for 407 yards of offense in Wednesday night’s 44-41 GMAC Bowl win over Troy, moving into second place all-time for total offense.
LeFevour entered the game 153 yards behind former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell. Former Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang is the all-time leader in total yards with 16,910.
LeFevour concludes his career with 15,853 yards of offense and an NCAA-record 150 total touchdowns.
STREAK IS OVER: Central Michigan ended a string of bowl misery for the Mid-American Conference with its victory. MAC teams had lost 14 consecutive bowl games prior to Wednesday night dating back to 2006, when the Chippewas beat Middle Tennessee in the Motor City Bowl.
ALONE AT THE TOP: Troy quarterback Levi Brown has gone where no quarterback in Troy or Sun Belt Conference history has gone.
Brown’s 386 passing yards against Central Michigan gave him 4,255 yards, the first time anyone in school or conference history has thrown for more than 4,000.
Brown, a senior, set the record with a 12-yard pass to Shawn Southward in the second quarter.
