Les Miles has history tracking Bear Bryant stories
BATON ROUGE – LSU Coach Les Miles has not had time to watch the footage of Bear Bryant that Alabama plays on the big screen before every home game, but he said the image of Bryant is familiar to him.
Even during the stretch Miles spent in the cold of Michigan, the shadow of the Bear would loom.
“Bo Schembechler had two friends in the south, ” Miles recalled Wednesday evening. “One of them was (former LSU coach) Charlie McClendon, and the other was Bear Bryant. I can still remember him visiting Bear in Alabama and then coming back and telling Bear stories.”
