South Carolina will be hurt most by NFL defections
At least Eric Norwood came back. South Carolina’s jumbo outside linebacker, best known for his two-touchdown performance in ’07 against Kentucky, will return to Columbia next year instead of heading to the NFL Draft. He might be the only recognizable Gamecock left.
Three of Norwood’s teammates — corner Captain Munnerlyn, safety Emmanuel Cook and tight end Jared Cook — will leave a season early. SC’s leading tackler, top cover guy and second-leading receiver are done a year early. As of Tuesday afternoon, no school has endured three such defections.
