Bowl games mean payday for players

Bowl games mean payday for players

It began early Saturday, with the EagleBank Bowl, followed by the New Mexico Bowl, the St. Petersburg Bowl and winding up with the Las Vegas Bowl.
On display were eight teams whose record going into Saturday’s games averaged out to 7-5.
Then came Sunday’s New Orleans Bowl with Troy and Southern Miss fitting into the same won-loss profile.

Five bowls down, 29 more to go.
Too many bowl games? Absolutely – unless your team happens to be one of the teams playing.
Or unless you happen to be a coach who might have saved your job for another year by taking a team to a bowl game or at the very least gotten a bonus for the extra game.
