Aug. 30, 2008

MSU opens Croom’s fifth season as coach with an embarrassing 22-14 loss to Louisiana Tech. Said Croom: “I found out what I needed to find out, but I found out in the worst way. We are an undisciplined football team.”

Sept. 13, 2008

MSU gets just 116 total yards and loses 3-2 at home to Auburn in one of the weirdest games in college football history. Three days later, saying MSU “just can’t pass the ball,” Pat Patterson withdraws his commitment.

Nov. 1, 2008

State loses another one-point SEC game, 14-13 to Kentucky.

Nov. 15, 2008

State loses 32-7 at Alabama, officially ending the Bulldogs’ bowl chances for 2008.

Nov. 28, 2008

State gets hammered 45-0 by Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl. The Bulldogs manage just 37 net total yards and an amazing minus-51 net yards rushing.
