MRA alum comes from behind to win state amateur title
TUNICA — Trey Denton fired a final round 4-under-par 68 to come from four strokes down and win the Mississippi State Amateur at Tunica National Golf Club.
Denton, who played at MRA in high school and recently graduated from Arizona, wins his first State Am after finishing second in 2006. He finished the four-day tournament at even par.
Brandon’s Jonathan Randolph started the day with a four-stroke lead, but ran into trouble on No. 9, when his first two tee shots flew out of bounds. He was four-over par on the hole.
