Weatherford ‘automatic’ when healthy

Weatherford ‘automatic’ when healthy
STARKVILLE – It wasn’t exactly an enjoyable Super Bulldog Weekend for Aaron Weatherford.

In fact, he used the word “miserable” to depict the experience.

Please pardon his negativity. After all, he was out of his element.

While his teammates were on the field battling Georgia, the junior Mississippi State closer was in the stands nursing a severe case of tendonitis in his shoulder.

“It was so frustrating,” said the Crystal Springs native, whose team hosts Tennessee for a three-game set beginning at 6:30 p.m. today. “It’s such a big weekend and not being a part of it was terrible.”

As a competitor, he felt he was letting his team down. But he knew he was at the mercy of the doctors and trainers.

Sure, he desperately wanted to return as quick as possible. But he understood coming back prematurely would only complicate matters.
