Second Amendment sales tax holiday starts Friday
Friday marks the start of the Second Amendment sales tax weekend, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves said today.
All day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, outdoor enthusiasts can see a break on supplies for hunting gear, including gun safes, archery equipment and ammunition. The initiative is similar to a sales tax break offered in Louisiana.
“Hunting is the favorite pastime of so many Mississippians and a major tourism draw for rural areas,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “The Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is a way to make these sports a little less expensive and encourage more families to enjoy the outdoors.”
