Farmington Mayor, Board of Aldermen switch to GOP
Here’s something you don’t hear often: The mayor, entire Board of Aldermen and chief of police in the small Northeast Mississippi town of Farmington have switched to the Republican Party.
The mayor and board members had reportedly been independents before the switch, for which a ceremony was held Wednesday. GOP Chairman Joe Nosef, Gov. Phil Bryant and U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker just welcomed them with a big ‘howdy’ press release.
