Barbour to Headline W.Va. GOP Gala
Two-term Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour will headline the West Virginia Lincoln-Reagan Gala Sept. 17 at the Charleston Civic Center.
The event will also feature U.S. Reps. Shelley Moore Capito and David McKinley, both R-W.Va. Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Maloney will also attend.
GOP Chairman Mike Stuart said Barbour has done in Mississippi what needs done in West Virginia, including increasing income enacting civil justice reforms, emerging as a leader in the energy industry, streamlining state government and transforming the state from fiscal turmoil to surplus and economic growth.
“Haley Barbour is coming to West Virginia because he knows we can follow his lead in transforming this great state if we choose the right leaders and make the right decisions,” Stuart said. “Haley Barbour understands that Bill Maloney and Republican leadership is critical to building a better future for all West Virginians. The status quo is not an option.”
