NMC – Scruggs humor at Lafayette County Courthouse
The courtroom was full of lawyers. An appraiser from Memphis was testifying about the value of a downtown property in Oxford, and pointing to comparable sales. He reached the next one, the lawyer put it up on the projector, where the appraisal notes that it was formerly the Scruggs law office. The appraiser says, “I believe this may have been a distress sale.”
Entire courtroom bursts out laughing.
