Announcing the Launch of MStweets.org
Mississippi Center for Public Policy announces the launch of MStweets.org. This new service allows the public to see the Twitter posts of Mississippi legislators. State legislators’ comments (or “tweets”) are automatically routed to MStweets.org, making it possible to read what the state law-makers are tweeting about from the House and Senate floors, committee meetings, and other important events. It also allows non-legislators to share their tweets about Mississippi government and politics by using the #MSTWEETS hash tag.
MStweets.org is provided at no cost to the user, is non-partisan, and easy to use. Anyone with a Twitter account can contribute to the content of the page through the use of the hash tag. However, a twitter account is not required to read the legislators’ posts.
This website, designed after a successful model used in other states, is a useful tool for keeping the public informed, it serves as an information hub for the news media, and it allows tweeters to communicate their thoughts on Mississippi government and politics.
