Mysterious Google news,jury powers
First question: What do disgraced Oxford ex-attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and music icon Earl Scruggs have in common?
Answer: The latter’s name appears on my Google Alert all day long, when I really want to know if anything’s been published about the federal prisoner in the vortex of another investigation into judicial bribery allegations.
If it makes either one of them feel better, I get an equally unusual outcome from those alerts for former Booneville attorney Joey Langston, also in a pickle in the Scruggs investigation. But instead of a music icon, I get a literary star, Langston Hughes.
I’d hate to see what would turn up if I wanted Brumfield alerts.
