The 34-year-old attorney had hoped for probation.
His attorneys, former Attorney General Mike Moore and Todd Graves, a former U.S. Attorney in Missouri, plan to file a motion regarding where Scruggs would be housed and to request the later reporting time.
The Bureau of Prisons will consider his requested location, but is not bound to grant it.
