June campaign finance numbers are out; See who’s ready for the home stretch

June campaign finance numbers are being reported. This will be the last major reporting of campaign finances until the August 6 primary.  This report is generally looked at by political insiders as determining who

Governor

Tate Reeves for Governor reported brought in just over $657,946 in contributions.  Total disbursements come to $3.1 million. Total cash on hand is at $5.8 million across all accounts.

Democratic candidate Jim Hood reported $1.3 million in total contributions through the year. His total disbursements equal $867,827. His total cash on hand is $1.46 million. Hood’s campaign reported contributions for the period totaling $332,635.

Bill Waller reported a total of $983,759 raised to date, $227,253 this period, and has a total of $414,426.02 (188,108.87 prior to Jan 1 2018 and 226,317.15 after Jan 1 2018).

Republican and current Representative Robert Foster reported $130,125 raised to date with $135,294 in disbursements. His cash on hand is just over $7k. For just this period Foster brought in $22,585 in contributions.

David Singletary, who is running for Governor as an Independent, reported $965.00 raised since January, with a total of $14,831 in disbursements.

Democrat Velesha Williams reported $23,664 raised through this quarter, with $22,382 in disbursements. She has a total of $1,281 cash on hand to date.

Bob Hickingbotton, who is also running for Governor, reported raising a total of $3,525 since January. Hit total disbursements are $3,332, with $193 cash on hand.

Phillip “Bucket” West reported $1,000 in contributions and disbursments with $0 cash on hand.

Robert Shuler Smith for Governor of Mississippi reported $17,945 in contributions with $17,038 in disbursements. His total cash on hand is $907.

Lt. Governor

Delbert Hosemann reported raising $882,500 in contributions including $256,000 this period. His total disbursements are $520,080. His final cash on hand is at $3 million.

Jay Hughes, a Democrat for Lt. Governor, reported $324,000 in contributions ($300,000 of that in the form of a loan from the candidate). His total disbursements are $866,035. His cash on hand at this time is $280,915. He also showed $325,000 raised through the campaign.

Shane Quick has not yet reported, but showed $101 cash on hand in the last period.

Attorney General

Lynn Fitch reported raising a total of $399,010 since January. Her total disbursements reached $446,018, with $231,334 cash on hand.

Republican Andy Taggart reported $419,072 in total contributions with $302,180 in disbursements. His final cash on hand is $119,391.

Mark Baker reported a total of $131,881 in contributions, with $140,489 in disbursements. His total cash on hand is $370,294.

Jennifer Riley Collins reported $109,881 in contributions. Her total disbursements are $62,996. Her cash on hand comes to $46,884.

Secretary of State

The Committee to elect Michael Watson reported $269,025 in total contributions to date, and $197,822 in disbursements. His total cash on hand is $226,317.

Friends of Sam Britton reported $611,523 in total contributions. His disbursements were totaled at $437,333. His total cash on hand is $174,190.

Candidate Johnny Dupree reported contributions at $38,564, his disbursements total $40,687. His cash on hand is currently at -$2,123.13.

Transportation Commissioners

Northern District: 

Friends of Goeffrey Yoste reported $152,626 in contributions. His total disbursements are at $118,041, leaving his cash on hand at $34,585.

Jeremy Martin reported raising $61,033 in contributions. His total disbursements are at $36,363. His current cash on hand is $24,669.

John Caldwell reported total contributions of $43,445 with disbursements of $8,279. His total cash on hand is $35,666.

Trey Bowman is reporting a total of $72,675 in contributions, with disbursements of $12,166. His total cash on hand is $60,508.

Friends of Joe Grist reported contributions of $20,544. His disbursements total at $7,721 with a total cash on hand of $12,822.

Central District: 

Butch Lee reported a total of $88,544 in contributions since January. His total disbursements are at $28,841. That leaves his current cash on hand at $59,703.

The Committee to elect Willie Simmons to Transportation Commissioner reported $133,343 in contributions. His disbursements total $101,809. The total cash on hand is $31,533.

Marcus Wallace

Ricky Pennington Jr.

Southern District: 

E. A. Hathcock has reported no contributions as of now, but with $427 in total disbursements. He has reported $0 cash on hand.

Chad Toney reported $2,000 in contributions. His disbursements equal $1,842. He has a total of $157 cash on hand.

Tom King reported raising $88,453 since January. His total disbursements is at $3,963. His total cash on hand is $88,453.

Tony Smith has reported $72,349 in total contributions. His disbursements equal $39,570. His final cash on hand at this period is $32,778.

Treasurer 

Senator Buck Clarke disclosed $226,445.60 cash on hand. He reported he brought in $68,400 before disbursing $69,066.94.

David McRae is reporting $274,835.69 cash-on-hand. That’s after  $532,525 in contributions and $579,768.59 in disbursements. 

Commissioner of Agriculture

Friends of Andy Gipson is reporting $45,635.15 cash on hand. They ended the reporting period having earned $11,377.00 and disbursing $4,723.47.

Friends of Rickey Cole has reported $40,196.04 cash-on-hand for this period. Contributions totaled $9,512.84 with expenditures totaling $1,653.32. 

Public Service Commissioners 

Dane Maxwell (Southern District)  is reporting $7,007 cash-on-hand. That’s after $11,700 in contributions and $12,808.14 in disbursements.

Bruce Burton (Central District) is reporting $-1,466.14 for this reporting cycle. He received no contributions but spent $1,319.31. 

Brandon Presley, running unopposed in the Northern District, is disclosing $113,201.39 cash-on-hand for the reporting period. That’s after $550 in contributions and disbursements equaling $1,832.98.

Ryan Brown (Central District) is reporting $21,217.13 in cash-on-hand after fundraising $5,765.00 and spending $8,862.79.

Kelvin Schulz (Southern District) is reporting $100 cash on hand balance after receiving contributions of $1,542.00, which was also the total amount of his disbursements.

Brent Bailey (Central District) is reporting $19,371.34 cash-on-hand with $8,385.00 in contributions and $5,768.07 in disbursements.

Dorothy “Dot” Benford (Central District) is reporting $60 cash-on-hand with $200.00 contributions and $140 in disbursements.

Sugar Stallings (Southern District)  reported $261.44 cash-on-hand.

De’Keither Stamps (Central District) is reporting $1,178.50 cash-on-hand with $1,212.16 in contributions and $3,248.76 in disbursements. 

Commissioner of Insurance

Robert Amos is reporting $9,200 cash on hand balance after receiving contributions of $2,000 and no disbursements.

Mike Chaney is reporting $256,392.23 cash on hand.
