Richard `Dickie’ Scruggs among headliners for ‘Lawyers For Literacy’ event
PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — Pascagoula native Richard “Dickie” Scruggs, noted for both his role a multi-billion tobacco settlement and in a judicial bribery case which sent him to federal prison, will headline the “Lawyers For Literacy” event at the Pascagoula library.
The event, set for Sept. 12 at 11 a.m., will also feature attorney Michael Hewes.
Scruggs will discuss his upcoming book and his program Second Chance Mississippi, created by Scruggs in cooperation with state community colleges to provide opportunities for those seeking a diploma or skill certification.
