Initiative 42 supporters: Secretary of State brochure misleading
Rep. Cecil Brown and proponents of Initiative 42 are questioning the language used in a pamphlet being distributed by the Secretary of State’s office at public hearings on the citizen-sponsored initiative and its legislative alternative across the state.
State law requires the Secretary of State’s office to include in its publications for initiatives and their alternatives a fiscal analysis provided by the Legislative Budget Office, which it first sought from the office in April.
The fiscal analysis is designed to explain what financial impact Initiative 42 would have if it passes in November…
…”The fiscal analysis that will be placed on the ballot accurately describes what would happen if Initiative 42 were to pass,” LBO Director Debbie Rubisoff said.
