2 percent tax vote passes in Jackson County
Voting was light Tuesday, but Jackson Countians approved with considerably more than the 60 percent needed a 2 percent room tax on motels and hotels to support tourism.
More than 71 percent voted for it, 2,650 to 1,077, and leaders in tourism-related businesses in the county were excited.
