Bomgar poll testing tea party, McDaniel politics

A few pieces of the poll point directly to that:

When asking for favorable/unfavorable opinions, the first name mentioned was not Gov. Phil Bryant, Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves or even Bomgar. It was Chris McDaniel.
At least two questions delved into whether or not a candidate supporting McDaniel against Cochran would influence a voter’s decision to support that candidate.
Respondents were asked if they voted for Cochran or McDaniel.
The pollster asked whether the voter thought it was more important for a legislator to vote for things that benefited Madison County or to vote according to conservative principles, even if it meant voting against bills that would benefit Madison County.
The last question is quite telling. McDaniel received quite a bit of backlash for taking stances against certain federal measures that are seen as important to Mississippi — Katrina aid and the Farm Bill among the two biggest.

Bomgar was a major supporter of McDaniel — both vocally and financially. Bomgar’s politics are also inline with that of McDaniel, the tea party and the more conservative wing of the Republican Party. He’s also seen as more pragmatic when it comes to political realities and willing to work with the establishment wing of the GOP.
