Johnny DuPree wins Hattiesburg mayoral election by 37 votes
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) –
On Thursday, after reviewing 115 affidavit ballots, Hattiesburg released the final, unofficial, totals in the race for mayor of the city.
Johnny DuPree won the election by 37 votes. The final tally: DuPree 4,775 – David Ware 4,738.
Hattiesburg officials resumed the process of validating affidavit ballots at 9 a.m. Thursday. At that time, 33 votes still separated incumbent Johnny DuPree and candidate David Ware after two days of counting votes and validating ballots.
