Harper – Main concern in Mississippi was jobs

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 29, 2012

Dear Friend,

Federal policymakers have spent the last several weeks in their home states discussing their ideas with citizens. As I’ve traveled the Magnolia State – from Natchez to Starkville – many folks seem to share the same concern: jobs.

House Republicans have focused on pro-growth priorities since day one of regaining the chamber’s majority. This is evident through our governing agenda, which aims to enact policies that make America more competitive by removing the government barriers slowing business development.

These solutions include plans that allow entrepreneurs to reinvest in their businesses. We have also advanced bills that encourage personal responsibility above federal dependency because I believe that you know how to spend your money better than the government does.

Each of our jobs proposals compliment Mississippi’s increasingly educated workforce, which is being trained to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving economy by our state’s first-class universities and community colleges.

As our state and nation continues to recover from this global economic downturn, I will advocate for a government that reflects Mississippi’s free enterprise values.

God bless,

Gregg Harper

Member of Congress
