Gov. Phil Bryant told Fairgoers he chose Philadelphia over a Republican Governors Association meeting in Colorado with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for this, his 15th Fair speech at the pavilion and first as governor. Bryant outlined his “path forward” for Mississippi hitting on his Mississippi Works Program, energy, education, healthcare, and teen pregnancy.
He called for a more business friendly environment in Mississippi government, “Government may not create jobs but we can sure stop them from happening.”
Bryant took a shot at President Barack Obama’s recent statement that successful people didn’t achieve on their own because they’re smart or work hard and, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” Bryant said. “Maybe he needs to talk to Bill Yates and tell him he didn’t build that business.”
