Little latest Tar Heel suspended for opener
Little would be the second player that UNC has officially suspended. Earlier in the week, coach Butch Davis suspended defensive tackle Marvin Austin. Both players have been linked to the NCAA’s investigation this summer into players having illegal contact with agents. Little and Austin have also been practicing with the second team while the NCAA continues its investigation.
The investigation grew further when the university self-reported possible academic improprieties involving a tutor. It is unknown how many other players could possibly be suspended for the first game and beyond, but ESPN.com’s Joe Schad reported earlier in the week the number could be as high as 16.
