Miss. Bar worried about unethical lawyers
JACKSON, Miss. (Legal Newsline) – The Mississippi Bar is cautioning those affected by the recent British Petroleum explosion and oil spill about attorneys acting inappropriately.
The Bar issued a press release Wednesday urging anyone who views unethical behavior on the part of attorneys to contact it. The Bar is also releasing an information guide for persons affected by the oil spill.
“After events of this nature, it is sometimes difficult for those who may have been injured or damaged to make informed decisions about their legal rights,” said George Fair, President of the Mississippi Bar.
“The Bar wants to make sure no one takes advantage of them as they try to make these decisions.”
