TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Three Republican candidates for the U.S. House told people Tuesday evening what they would do if elected to represent Mississippi’s First Congressional District.
Angela McGlowan, Alan Nunnelee and Henry Ross participated in a debate organized by the Tupelo Tea Party.
The opening statements by the candidates took an interesting turn when McGlowan used her time to talk about a flier.
According to McGlowan, the flier says she wants to take guns away from white people.
She says that has led to threats against her and her staff.
“If the purpose of this was to have me step out of this race, I’m going to fight even harder,” said McGlowan.
As for the issues, all three expressed opposition to the recently passed federal overhaul of health care.
