First start a good start for new Alabama QB
TUSCALOOSA — The first read was the tight end underneath, but the tight end was covered, so Greg McElroy waited.
The second read was the flanker on a post, but the free safety jumped the flanker, so McElroy waited a little longer.
The third read was the split end on a back-side streak, and the split end was Julio Jones, so McElroy didn’t hesitate.
He threw a long strike for his first touchdown pass, in front of 84,050 people, as the Alabama starting quarterback. So there is life after John Parker Wilson after all.
