Five questions facing the Florida Gators

QUESTION: How can the Gators possibly replace receiver Percy Harvin?

ANSWER: The Gators’ offense will undergo a slight change this spring with the loss of Harvin, who declared himself eligible for the NFL Draft shortly after UF won the Bowl Championship Series national title. Harvin’s unique skill set allowed him to thrive as both a slot receiver and a motion back in coach Urban Meyer’s spread offense. That versatility cannot be duplicated with just one player, but the Gators do have the depth needed to replace Harvin’s production. Though undersized at 5-7, senior Brandon James, UF’s All-American return specialist, has filled in for Harvin in the past. Senior David Nelson gives UF a 6-5 target as a slot receiver.
