Longtime AU staffer heads to Miss. State
New Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen put the finishing touches on his staff Wednesday by hiring former Auburn assistant Greg Knox.
Knox, who coached receivers for 10 years at Auburn, will supervise running backs for the Bulldogs.
“I’m really excited about it,” Knox told the Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Miss. “I always thought Mississippi State was a gold mine. Great place. Kids are going to want to come there.”
Knox’s hiring leaves only one member of Tommy Tuberville’s former Auburn staff still looking for work.
Tight ends/inside receivers coach Steve Ensminger will coach quarterbacks at Smiths Station High School, while offensive line coach Hugh Nall left coaching for executive post at an Albany, Ga., trucking firm.
Running backs coach and special teams coordinator Eddie Gran was hired by Tennessee last week, while Terry Price was named defensive line coach at Ole Miss.
