Chizik weathers storm at Auburn, already doing it his way
Say this for new Auburn Coach Gene Chizik: He has weathered the initial storm at Auburn.
When Chizik was announced as the Tigers’ replacement for Tommy Tuberville, the disbelief in the state of Alabama was palpable. This was the guy to compete against Nick Saban’s rebuilt program at Alabama, the guy whose only head coaching stop (Iowa State resulted in a 5-19 record in two seasons in Ames.)
