It’s the Jimmys and Joes, you know, more than the X’s and O’s. So in this most undeniable silly season – the end-of-year job jumping for college football coaches – the theme in the SEC has evolved from recruiting to something far more sophisticated.
Call it Recruiting 2.0.
Look around the SEC and all the new hires are all the same – it’s about getting an ace recruiter. Or two or three or four, if possible.
How silly can silly season get?
Tennessee wanted Georgia’s ace recruiter but settled for Ole Miss’ former ace recruiter, who turned down an offer to be Louisiana State’s ace recruiter.
