Mississippi State ready for Cohen era

When John Cohen left Mississippi State as a player in 1990, he always thought about eventually becoming the Bulldogs’ coach. That seemed like a pipe dream for so long, but four coaching stops later, the wish finally has come true.
After guiding Kentucky to a 44-19 record and another NCAA regional berth last season, Cohen was perfectly content with making Lexington, Ky., his permanent home. Then came a call from Mississippi State athletic director Greg Byrne the Monday after the Wildcats were eliminated from the Ann Arbor Regional.
