STARKVILLE, Miss. ? Mississippi State center J.C. Brignone was named Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, the SEC office announced on Monday.

Brignone, a 6’1”, 290-pounder from Pass Christian, Miss., graded out with an offensive line-best 88 percent blocking grade in Mississippi State’s 31-22 win against Middle Tennessee last weekend. The sophomore has eclipsed the 80-percent mark each of the past six games and has played every snap of the last five Bulldog contests.

Brignone helped pave the way for State to rack up 169 rushing yards against the Blue Raiders, and State rushed for four touchdowns for the first time in a game since the 2001 Egg Bowl against Ole Miss.
