The public is invited to review and help update the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) in two public meetings this week.
The STIP, which is currently in draft form, is MDOT’s listing of anticipated transportation improvement activities from 2008 until 2011.
The public’s comments and suggestions concerning specific transportation needs will be recorded and evaluated as part of the on-going statewide planning process.
“This is the public’s opportunity to be engaged in the planning and implementation of transportation improvements in the next three years,” said District Six Special Projects Director Sharpie Smith. Smith will be on-hand for both of the public meetings.
Comments will be recorded at come-and-go type meetings.
