PENDER sees Reeves, Harper, Hosemann, McDaniel as top picks if Gov. Bryant needs to make US Senate appointment

GEOFF PENDER: Who would Bryant appoint to U.S. Senate if Cochran resigns?

Bryant would be pragmatic, seeking a candidate who would have to A) be able to get elected, B) be able to do the job and C) be in it for the long haul….

…I believe Bryant’s short list for a Senate appointment would be Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and state Sen. Chris McDaniel — pretty much in that order, with McDaniel’s appointment most unlikely.
