Report: Gunman fired at Mississippi Rep. Trent Kelly before hitting Scalise

A gunman who opened fire at a congressional baseball team practice shot at Mississippi U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly as he played third base, then shot and hit Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, according to a Washington Post report.

The Mississippi delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives are all reported to be safe after a shooting at a Republican baseball team practice.

Kelly spokeswoman Susan Parker said Kelly was declining interviews Wednesday morning and that, “he’s shaken up, as you can imagine.”
