National Park Service to Designate Mississippi State Capitol as a National Historic Landmark
On Thursday, May 4, a member of the National Park Service will officially designate the Mississippi State Capitol as a National Historic Landmark, a title given by the Secretary of the Interior to recognize a place’s value to the heritage of the United States. Today, just over 2,500 historic places bear this national distinction. State leaders will be in attendance to speak at the ceremony.
