About two dozen protest at Capitol over Jackson airport, “Confederate spring”

By: Magnolia Tribune - April 5, 2016

Protesters Target Jackson Airport Bill, Confederate Symbols

About two dozen people chanted loudly in the Capitol rotunda Monday afternoon, “No airport, no peace!” and “Hey, hey, ho, ho. Confederate Spring has got to go!”

An organizer, Cheryl Nannette, says the demonstrators are with a grassroots group called Corporation Jackson. She says they were protesting the Confederate battle emblem in the Mississippi flag and Gov. Phil Bryant’s proclamation of April as Confederate Heritage Month.
