A bill passed out of a Senate committee would make sports fantasy betting legal in Mississippi.
Senate Judiciary A Chairman Sean Tindell, R-Gulfport, filed Senate Bill 2541. It says a fantasy contest doesn’t constitute gaming or gambling under Mississippi laws…
…The attorney general of New York and some other states have filed civil cases to shutdown fantasy sports leagues in their states, saying it constitutes gambling. Last month, Mississippi Attorney Jim Hood said sports fantasy betting is illegal under current state law.
