Candidate drops out of Madison Co. Tax Assessor race leaving one

Norman Cannady will be the next Tax Assessor for Madison County following a candidate’s withdrawal from the August primary this week.

On Monday, Cannady’s opponent John Evans, submitted a letter to Circuit Clerk Lee Westbrook asking he be taken off the candidate list.

“Please withdraw my name from the list of candidates for Madison County Tax Assessor for the 2015 election cycle,” Evans wrote. “If there are any additional requirements for my removal from the list of candidates, please let me know.”
