Tupelo to get ‘first lady’ after mayor pops question to former Miss Mississippi

Tupelo will soon have a new first lady.

Mayor Jason Shelton’s recent engagement to Fulton native and former Miss Mississippi Chelsea Rick means the beauty queen will soon have a new crown to wear in Tupelo.

Shelton asked Rick to marry him last Saturday near the rose garden at City Hall, where the couple walked nearly one year ago during their first date.
