Hosemann helps Mississippi storm crews get ballots cast
More than 80 Mississippi Power employees who are working in the Northeast on storm-restoration duty were still able to exercise their right to vote Tuesday, thanks to a little help from Mississippi’s secretary of state.
Delbert Hosemann’s office made sure the utility company’s employees, working last week in Pennsylvania, received absentee ballots. He also made arrangements for a notary public to certify the ballots at the hotel where workers are staying.
The ballots were then returned to Mississippi by overnight express to meet the deadline for absentee voting over the weekend.
