Mississippi legislative leaders prepared to live with health reform — but don’t like it

Mississippi’s two legislative leaders say they don’t like the Affordable Care Act’s expensive mandates to states, but they’ll promote the Democrat-backed state law unless it is repealed.

Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves, who presides over the state Senate, and House Speaker Philip Gunn of Clinton, both Republicans, said they are awaiting the outcome of the Nov. 6 general election. They’ll know then whether Republican Mitt Romney defeated President Barack Obama, and whether the GOP takes control of the Senate.
