Hood Continues to Defend his Support of Obamacare and Dodge Questions about Voter ID
Despite overwhelming opposition throughout Mississippi and repeated rulings against the law’s constitutionality, Jim Hood continued his unwavering support of President Obama’s healthcare law and defended his refusal to join the fight against Obamacare at this afternoon’s political forum.
“Today, Jim Hood confirmed the fact that he believes President Obama’s healthcare plan is right for Mississippi,” Steve Simpson said. “Obamacare will kill jobs, take billions from Medicare and turn healthcare decisions over to Washington, D.C. Bureaucrats. Jim Hood supports Obamacare and I oppose it – that’s the bottom line.”
Jim Hood also reaffirmed his refusal to participate in political debates, claiming that he is simply too busy to discuss the important issues in this race. Hood has refused to tell Mississippi voters where he stands on many of these major issues, including Voter ID and why he believes Obamacare is right for Mississippi.
“I believe that Mississippi voters deserve answers to these tough questions before they hire an Attorney General for the next four years, which is why I have called for political debates,” Simpson said. “While Jim Hood can try to hide from political debates he can not hide from his record of supporting Obamacare and opposing Voter ID, two of the most important issues that will be decided on November 8th.”
